Company Background:
Gazprom Marketing Trading Ltd (GMT) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Gazprom and was formed in 1999 to establish a marketing and trading platform in the UK and Western Europe. Since 2004 GMT has grown rapidly and now employs almost 700 people in London, Manchester, Paris, Berlin, Houston and Singapore. By optimising the liberalised energy markets it undertakes wholesale gas trading, retails gas to commercial and large industrial customers and trades LNG, power, oil derivatives, clean energy e.g. carbon, bio-mass and foreign exchange.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Contracts Administration (Physical Oil DrybulkTrades)
- Prepare the contract templates (Special Provisions or Terms) based on the Trader's/Counterparty/Broker recap.
- In conjunction with the Legal team review contractual obligations and contract templates.
- Administer the transmission and receipt of Contracts/Special Provisions or terms
- Monitor and administer the Special Provision/Terms counters to ensure timely correspondence.
- Liaise with counterparties on Special Provision/Terms and Counters
- Proactively engage Front/Back office in the preparation of effective contract counters to mitigate commercial and business risks.
- Proactively update Front office on the latest terms/clauses negotiated or agreed and highlighting the unresolved clauses specific to respective counterparties.
- Notify counterparties formally where issues/ special circumstances or breaches of contract have taken place.
- Job scope may in future be broadened to include shipping LNG contracts
2. Other Responsibilities
- Assisting the Legal Counsel with various matters pertaining to written resolutions and Board meetings.
- Assisting the GMTS Legal team in their day-to-day responsibilities which may include drafting, reviewing contracts and related correspondence; arranging for and/or co-ordinating the execution of contracts.
- Managing existing contracts as well as day-to-day management of contractual documents in a soon to be implemented electronic Document Management System.
Candidate Specification:
1. Qualifications:
- At least a diploma or degree in Law or relevant work experience as in paralegal role in a private legal practice or at an in-house legal department.
2. Skills:
- Well versed with Microsoft Office computer skills (e.g. Word (including formatting with use of Word Styles), Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook)
- Ready, proactive and able to exercise initiative to get the job done
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Eye for details (especially for spelling and formatting)
- Ability to meet tight deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
- Proficiency in English language skills. Second Asian language skills will be an advantage
- Strong organisation skills

4. Experience:
