Job Description In this exciting role you will lead our Contracts and Procurement team as well as directly contributing to Projects and Studies. This is a key role in developing contracting strategies and formal procurement plans for MI projects. The role involves inter-business line support as well as direct customer interaction, and interaction with project managers and discipline engineers. Project assigned Procurement Officers, Inspectors and Expeditors will report to this position. Key responsibilities: - Development of and adherence to the contracts procurement process and procedures - Ensure all appropriate legalities, statute requirements and scope obligations are achieved - Develop Contracting Strategies and Contracting Plans for Projects - Assignment of the procurement packages to the Procurement Officers - Monitor the administration of purchase orders, including inspection, expediting and logistics activities - Preparing Invitation to Tender for contracted work, evaluating submissions and managing alignment with projects - Commercial management of contracts and subcontracts (post award) - Driving continuous improvement of commercial processes - Ensure Projects are appropriately staffed with buyers, expeditors, inspectors, warehousing, materials management and logistics personnel - Coordinating contractual, commercial, industrial relations, taxation, insurance and legal issues - Constructing and negotiating MOU and partnering arrangements Essential Criteria: - Detailed knowledge of good practice for procurement procedures and processes - Superior written and oral communication skills - Minimum of 10+ years in Procurement and Contracts Management roles - Tertiary qualification in commerce or legal studies, or equivalent experience in the workplace - Supervisory experience - Excellent acumen for building rapport with internal and external clients - Time management skills, encompassing the ability to prioritise tasks in order to resolve conflicting deadlines between other team-members and or peers - Ability to prioritise and manage conflicting priorities
