CONTROLLER/ACCOUNTING MANAGER

 

Requirements/Reporting To:  Full time, exempt position reporting to President CFO

Compensation:  Commensurate with experience

Location: Boston, MA area 

             

Role

The Controller/Accounting Manager ("Controller") is responsible for all areas relating to financial reporting. This position will be responsible for developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements. The Controller supervises others in the accounting department and supports the Chief Financial Officer in various areas. This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including bill payment, receivables collection, general ledger preparation and analysis, financial reporting, monthly reporting and the support of budget and forecast activities. The Controller will have contact with senior-level management which requires strong interpersonal communication skills both written and verbal and the ability to identify opportunities to improve operations and contribute to the company's overall success.

Minimum Requirements

Education
BA/BS in Business with an emphasis in Accounting, CPA a plus

Technical Skills and Prior Experience
- Five to seven years prior supervisory experience in the financial reporting/general ledger area.
- Must be PC proficient and able to thrive in a fast -pace setting; experience with QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel,

     PowerPoint, Access and Word is essential.

- Strong verbal and written communication skills.

- Strong interpersonal, supervisory and customer service skills required.

- Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines required.
