Corporate Credit Risk- AVP

Provide credit and analytical support for the equities margin loan portfolio globally, supporting risk management functions in both NY and London.

• Review and analyze proposals to provide committed credit facilities to finance (leverage) equity shares of  publicly traded companies worldwide. transactions are non-recourse, meaning we only have access to the shares value, or recourse to a corporate, LLP/LLC or other legal entity borrower (i.e., not individuals)

*Review/establish credit terms such as covenants, liquidation triggers, maximum loan-to-value limit, etc. to mitigate risk. 

*Review financial condition and equity research reports on the target equity company to ascertain positive or negative events that could impact its equity share price.  Review/perform due diligence on the borrower.

• Prepare Credit Approval Memo's (CAMs) detailing all material aspects of the  facility and present to senior management for final consideration/approval. This includes preparation of a risk rating scorecard which defines the riskiness of the transaction. 

*Review booking process with front and middle office, to ensure proper booking and reporting of exposures against guidelines and country/industry limits.

• Maintain and update a portfolio summary of the equities margin loan business to be reported to senior management on an ongoing basis.

• It is expected that the officer would spend a majority of his/her time on the equities margin loan portfolio. In addition, the officer would also provide support to his/her manager on resolving ongoing business issues related to the equities derivative business, non-standard derivative trades, and collateral issues.

 

MUST HAVE

Formal Corporate Credit training or prior experience in a credit position extending credit facilities or derivatives lines 

* Strong writing skills.

• Familiarity with derivatives, repurchase agreements or similar products.

• Familiarity with legal documentation as it relates to lending and derivatives.

• Strong analytical skills.

• Strong PowerPoint presentation skills and command of spreadsheet data.
