Corporate Development Associate (Must have 3 years FIG M&A experience)

Key Accountabilities

Play an active role (assisting) in the evaluation and analysis of proposals for acquisitions, disposals, joint ventures and strategic alliances (100%):

(1) Transaction Origination and Execution (80%)
• Produce valuations using various valuation techniques, assumptions and sensitivities (45%)
• Transaction Management - actively assist in the management, negotiation and execution of corporate acquisitions, disposals and joint ventures from origination/inception to completion, including input to the negotiation of price and structure to optimise the financial aspects of transactions and insight to the negotiation of legal documentation in conjunction with in-house and third party legal advisers (25%)
• Monitor procedures and controls for transactions (5%)
• Assist in the preparation of strategic reviews, participating actively in making recommendations to divest, hold or acquire businesses (5%)

(2) Governance (10%)
• Assist in developing, maintaining and ensuring consistent implementation of BCD policy

(3) Relationship Management (10%)
• Develop and maintain close links with the Group businesses and with external advisers

Person Specifications

• Strong numeracy skills
• Ability to build a valuation model and value story, analyse valuation outputs and due diligence findings
• Good research experience of markets, products and targets
• Clear and logical thought processes allowing effective communication both orally and in writing
• Presentational skills (both preparation and delivery)
• Project management skills, including ability to multi task
• Ability to work to tight deadlines in a pressurised environment, and organise self to execute activities and tasks to plan
• Ability to manage with limited supporting resource and develop Managers
• Perseverance/resilience of character
• Personal flexibility – able to manage projects overseas at short notice

Essential
• Three years FIG experience within a large investment bank
• Corporate Finance experience, including valuation experience
• Investment Banking Or Accountancy

Preferred
• Accounting qualification, or CFA, or MBA
• Corporate Finance transaction services and/or execution experience
