Cost Controller Job in Brisbane, Queensland Australia
This role would suit a client team, EPCM or tier 1 contractor experienced Cost Engineer who is able to provide effective and visible cost controls measures for this large multi-billion dollar project. This large project based in QLD is about to enter the next phase of its scheduled development and as a result they now require an experienced Cost Controller for the EPCM team. The main focus for these roles will be to manage and update the cost management tools to enable the accurate recording of data as well as to analyse costs and trends in order to provide real time advice to the key project staff as needed so previous use of PRISM is a must for the successful candidate.
Duties will include (but will not be limited to):
- Proficient use on the systems and work processes involved for PRISM
- The tracking of weekly labour costs to ensure spending is kept within budget, making adjustments where appropriate
- The review of current and subsequent budgets and staff plans for the project teams
- Maintaining cost databases
- Assist with ‘one-off” sub-programmes
- Prepare comparative Cost Estimates for new items
- Check variation quantity take-offs and review rates
- Taking part in costing reviews.
- The preparation of monthly reports
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Cost Controller to work on multiple, high-value contracts. This large LNG project is about to enter the next phase of development which will include significant work packages across all disciplines.
As an ideal candidate for this role you will need:
- 5 years + cost control experience for oil and gas or resources projects
- Strongly desirable to have tertiary qualifications in one or more of the fields of Engineering or Accounting (or relevant industry experience).
- Previous Client Team experience or EPCM experience desirable
- Experience of working with high value work packages running concurrently.
