Cost Engineer / Quantity Surveyor Job in Los Angeles, California US

Guam based company is looking for a Cost Engineer/Quantity Surveyor position. The position requires relocation to Guam for 1 1/2 to 2 years. The Cost Engineer/Quantity Surveyor will require traditional estimating functions such as delineating scopes of work for contractor trades, develop and issue contractor requests for proposals, as well as respond to client requests for proposals. Develop construction cost estimates from unit rates including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and civil works. Review and validate contractor bids, ensure compliance to plans and specifications as well as identify potential cost and schedule risks to be mitigated during the execution period. Price bills of quantities for the local market as well as international clients and computer literate in estimating software packages.

 

Applicant is to have a Bachelor's degree in cost engineering/quantity surveyor or related field from an accredited curriculum.  Minimum 5 years related experience managing projects in the construction industry. Excellent written verbal communication skills with both internal project management staff and client staff are essential along with strong analytical and problem solving skills. Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and Project is needed.
