Position Description:
Morgan Stanley's Credit Risk Department is seeking a strong candidate for its Counterparty Credit Risk team covering Hedge Funds. Credit Risk professionals at Morgan Stanley perform two core functions:

Risk Decisions – All primary lending and derivatives transactions are approved by senior credit professionals. These individuals establish and monitor the credit limits for each active counterparty and work closely with Morgan Stanley's trading desks and banking teams.

Research – Upon receiving requests from the Institutional Securities Division to approve new counterparties from the various trading desks, Credit's research teams actively investigate, review and rate the credit quality of entities in a wide range of industries. The research teams work closely with the risk decision teams to determine what transactions should be approved and under what conditions.

The Hedge Fund team in Credit Risk overlaps with both the research function and risk decisions on traded products with hedge funds and other counterparty types. Primary duties include: conduct due diligence with hedge fund managers; perform financial and credit analyses to establish credit-specific ratings; author credit reviews and present credit opinions; review, diligence and approve new trade requests recommending structures to minimize risk; track and monitor counterparty compliance in accordance with contractual terms and Firm limits; notify business units as appropriate; keep current on industry and market trends.

Skills Required:
• The ideal candidate will have 3 to 5 years of relevant experience and posses the flexibility to multi-task between a portfolio of hedge funds and traded product expertise.
• Superior written and verbal communication skills; quantitative orientation; ability to manage dynamic priorities.
• Finance/accounting degree or strong background in financial markets.
