Position Description:
PIMCO Product Managers are investment professionals that specialize in a strategy area or market sector. They are recognized internally and externally as experts in this area. Product Managers at PIMCO lead new business development efforts in their area of expertise. They focus on long-term strategic positioning, while seeking to capture near-term demand opportunities. Product Managers seek to position PIMCO for sustained high growth rates and attractive levels of profitability, diversifying PIMCO's business by product, investor type, and region. Product Managers use their highly specialized knowledge to lead all strategic aspects of that strategy area, akin to running a focused global business unit within PIMCO. Typical Product Management teams are 3 to 7 people in size, split between senior Product Managers and junior Product Associates who provide reporting and analytical support.
PIMCO's alternative strategies offer investors the potential for attractive returns with lower correlation to traditional assets. Alternative strategies may diversify a portfolio while reducing overall volatility. They employ a high degree of discretion to access a wide variety of investment opportunities.

PIMCO is seeking a Product Manager to contribute to the development of its alternative investment strategies business. Strategies in this area include PIMCO's hedge funds, opportunistic funds and other private vehicles. This individual will have the opportunity to significantly contribute to the growth of PIMCO in these areas.

Credit Alternatives Product Manager Responsibilities Include:

• Define a vision for the growth of PIMCO's credit alternatives products
• Develop a business plan that includes both the strategy and tactics to achieve the targeted growth, with an understanding of the competitive landscape
• Develop a strong partnership with the portfolio management and analyst teams
• Identify demand for new alternative products; develop, position and support those products
• Collaborate with marketing, client facing, consultant relations and other functional groups to implement the business plan
• Represent PIMCO's alternative products internally, serving as the product expert to relationship managers and marketers
• Represent PIMCO's alternative products externally at client meetings, industry conferences and meetings with other market participants
• Develop marketing, servicing and educational materials, including marketing and servicing presentations, monthly commentaries, quarterly investor reports, white papers, and other materials for publication
• Partner with client-facing PIMCO professionals to service and grow our alternatives business globally

Position Requirements:
The Ideal Candidate Would Possess the Following:

• An MBA degree with an emphasis in Finance and Economics from a leading business school, an equivalent advanced degree, the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and/or relevant work experience
• Extensive work experience related to hedge funds, private funds and other alternative strategies.
• Solid understanding of macroeconomic and general investment fundamentals
• Enthusiasm for the financial markets and investment management
• Understanding of the various channels of demand and distribution for alternative products
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Aptitude for public speaking in both formal and informal settings, in front of a variety of types and sizes of audiences
• Entrepreneurial drive to build a business coupled with the ability to be a cooperative team player
• High level of organizational skills and the ability to prioritize work according to business needs
• Clear commitment to PIMCO's culture, values and investment approach
• Series 3, 7, 66 and other applicable securities licenses, or ability to obtain immediately upon joining
