Credit Analyst
Role:
Support the management of credit risk in Treasury by approving, monitoring and reporting credit limits and exposures within agreed appetite and policies.
Key accountabilities:
o Provide input to the Treasury Credit Policy, ensuring this complies with Lending Risk appetite and all relevant regulation.
o Monitor an allocated portfolio of assets in accordance with the Lending Risk Strategy, reporting adverse performance trends and formulating action plans for underperforming or out-of-policy assets
o Prepare and approve credit limit applications to agreed standards in accordance with the approved lending mandate
o Prepare Treasury Credit papers for Committees
o Attend the Treasury Lending Risk Committee if required to present papers
o Supervise and coach junior members of the team
o Maintain deep knowledge of key market data, trends, rating agency reports for allocated portfolios
o Maintain strong relationships with external counterparties such as rating agencies, regulators and other financial institutions.
The Candidate:
Good degree in a relevant subject (e.g. financial or mathematical)
Minimum of 5 years experience credit risk management experience gained in a Treasury setting with specific experience of preparing credit papers and recommending credit limits
Experience working with Asset Backed Securities and Covered Bonds
Highly developed communications skills Strong analytical skills, ideally with experience in cash flow modelling
