Credit Analyst, Property Finance

The ideal candidate will have experience within Credit Analysis focussing mainly within Property finance. Operating within this Financing division the individual will assist the respective Credit Managers in: The mitigation of credit risk whilst optimising profit The proactive recovery of impaired assets, to maximise realisations and minimise provisions The maintenance of accurate information on databases and the preparation of reports to senior management as required

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

1. Credit Management:- a) Attend and minute Credit Committees as required; b) Provide own view in those Committees and input to Chairman (Vice Chairman) on all proposals and comment on any pertinent issues. c) Ensure control of excesses and overdue loans. d) Ensure the timely conduct of loan reviews and portfolio reviews by business development managers and Heads of Department. e) Liaise with business development managers, clients, bridging loans department, asset finance department and/or Credit Committee, as appropriate.

2. Management of Credit Exposures:- a) Assist in the approval of loan drawdown at inception/ completion; b) Assist in the approval of subsequent drawdowns of works under monitoring surveyor certificates;

3. Asset Recovery:- a) Assist with the management of the recovery of any impaired assets. b) Liaising with LPA Receivers; Property professionals; contractors; property managers; lawyers; accountants and others to prevent loss and recover existing provisions optimally where possible; c) Assist in the regular reporting of assets on Early Warning List; Recovery List and Arrears schedule to Senior Management; d) Provide input to Senior Management to assist in determining recovery strategy and actions to be taken; e) Implementing agreed strategy effectively and efficiently;

4. General Matters:- a) Production of management information for Senior Management as required and specifically in accordance with the Procedures manual; b) Manage efficient and accurate file maintenance and account processing.

Applicants should possess the following proven skills :

1) Proficient with both Microsoft Word and Excel programmes.

2) Good written/report writing skills.

3) Ability to communicate accurately, both verbally and in writing.

4) Able to work to tight deadlines whilst paying attention to detail.

5) Willing to work outside normal business hours when necessary to meet team objectives.

6) A team player.

7) Able to work with limited supervision

8) Familiar with banking systems Ideally educated to A' Level or Degree, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in the banking sector. This to include exposure to credit in all its disciplines but particularly with some property exposure.
