Credit Analyst recruitment

Position Objectives: Managing a team of counterparty risk officers, analyzing counterparties and transactions in large corporate client portfolio.  Ability to identify, quantify and mitigate risk drivers in commercial and investment banking transactions, monitor risk exposures, and address counterparty risk deterioration, and to develop these skills in team members.

Position Description:

• Manage team of 3-4 credit risk officers to analyze and mitigate credit risk from trade finance and derivative transactions (derivatives focus mostly on foreign exchange and  interest rates but also include commodities).
• Primary responsibility for industry-level coverage of Chinese counterparties, primarily corporate (exact industry allocations based on experience).  
• Interface directly with front office staff across all business divisions (e.g. global markets, trade finance, corporate finance)
• Coordinate with other Risk units (Market Risk, Treasury, Operational Risk) on credit approvals, counterparty information and credit risk control steps.
• Conduct independent due diligence on counterparties, including leading client meetings, and financial analysis
• Assess suitability of client risk profile and taking appropriate steps to mitigate risk
• Understanding of financial products and their risk profiles; ability to evaluate proposed new transaction structures to identify and mitigate risk factors
• Oversee and evaluate rating assessments of clients, and ability to prepare them personally
• Documenting client strategy and exposure profile in credit reviews and management reports
• Assess global, regional and local market events/trends and their impact on local industries and counterparties.
• Daily control and exposure management of credit facilities, including follow up on trade execution, booking, credit limit implementation, reporting and monitoring.
• Ensure proper credit terms are incorporated in trading documents, confirmations and other relevant documents.
• Ensure compliance with relevant PRC regulations. 
• Interaction with senior management in Risk and business units about transactions, structures and market developments
• Motivate and train team members while providing opportunities and challenges

Required Skills/Attributes:

• Minimum 8+ years experience in credit risk management and assessment, with focus on corporate sector
• Experience in international bank preferred
• Strong communication skills (both written and verbal)
• Ability to deal professionally and independently with front-office staff, external clients and Bank management
• Understanding of key products in capital markets (e.g. swaps, FX, equities, and collateralised transactions/structures) and trade finance, with focus on product risks.
• Ability to work under pressure
• Awareness of Chinese financial markets, financing structures, and regulatory framework.
• Familiarity with legal documentation and risk issues, including ISDA, NAFMII, CSA, and credit mitigating measures.
• Team oriented, flexible, diligent, self motivated.
• Fluency in English and Mandarin.
