Credit Documentation Manager

Job Description

This Legal Documentation position is for the Credit Documentation Unit Team ("CDU Team"), which is part of the Wholesale Banking Legal Department in Singapore.

Key Roles Responsibilities

o Responsible for loan/credit documentation for Wholesale Banking lending businesses comprising plain vanilla corporate banking loans and trade finance facilities, as well as structured trade finance, shipping finance, aircraft finance, project finance, leveraged finance, acquisition finance type facilities etc.
o Prepare, review, draft, negotiate and produce banking facility letters and related security documents (largely based on internal templates) according to credit approvals
o Review corporate documents (for example, MAA, board resolutions), finalize and send out drafts of financing and related documents in a timely manner
o Liaise with law firms in relation to perfection and registration of security
o Review/check externally prepared documents for complex or syndicated transactions
o Ensure financing structure and documentation are in compliance with the terms and spirit of the credit approval and the Bank's policies and procedures
o Update collateral details and link the various collaterals to the facility limits in the Collateral Management System and ensure accuracy of data in the system so that correct security values are reported for Basel purposes
o Review and confirm all securing documentation before issuance of security compliance certificate which permits the limits to be utilized by the customers
o Effective management of security documents including lodgment / withdrawal and release of documents under dual control
o Regular engagement of segment heads together with CDU head to discuss service standards and address any support issues
o Ensure delivery of quality service and support to the various businesses in accordance with agreed Service Level Agreements

Qualifications Skills

* Has been in a similar role with relevant financing documentation experience in the Asian market and is able to carry out the day to day responsibilities with little supervision.
* Good working knowledge of local Companies Act and legal requirements for perfection of security documentation
* Sound knowledge of banking practices, relevant legislation and Statutory and Regulatory requirements
* Demonstrated ability to work in a fast moving, demanding environment whilst maintaining high quality work using good analytical skills and excellent attention to details.
* Strong team player and possess excellent communication skills to effectively liaise with and develop close working relationships with stakeholders and business partners in other divisions of the Legal department, front office, Credit, Finance Tax.
* Good organizational and supervisory skills
