Credit Manager Job in Melbourne 3000, Victoria Australia
Over the last few years this well known energy business, a leader in its field, has grown from strength to strength. Owing to their continued success and growth, they are now looking for an experienced Credit Manager to join their finance team located in the City fringe.
About the Role:
Reporting to the General Manager, the successful candidate will be providing leadership to the internal collections team consisting of up to 10 staff and manage the reduction of debt across all age categories to ensure departmental objectives are met.
Key duties include:
- Ensure administrative tasks are completed according to priority and specified deadlines to meet KPIs
- Manage rosters to ensure coverage of inbound phone queue and related collections tasks
- Provide an escalation point for the team and be involved in hands-on communication with customers
- Work alongside Sales, Operations, Legal, Regulation and Finance groups
- Team training requirements, performance reviews and performance management
- Ensure resourcing requirements are met as required
- Self-assessment of performance, to drive own development in consultation with the Revenue Manager
- Expand systems knowledge to guarantee customer and business expectations are met or exceeded
- Responsible for managing adhoc Debt Services projects, including requirement scoping, implementation and post-implementation monitoring
- Report on team performance (daily, weekly, monthly)
- Reporting on Mercantile Agency performance (daily, weekly, monthly)
- Produce weekly update reporting for Revenue Manager
- Lead your team to communicate emerging issues
Key Skills and Requirements:
- A reasonable depth of experience in a similar or related Leadership role
- Experience within the Energy Retail Industry
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office and a high level of computer literacy in other systems
- Experienced in process development and implementation.
- Understanding of end to end processes involved in the management of overdue accounts
- Demonstrated management and leadership experience
- Proven high achiever with exceptional people and leadership skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and strong interpersonal skills
- Excellent self-organisation and time management skills
- Business maturity and acumen with empowerment and decision making ability
- Ability to motivate and influence others to achieve consistent outcomes that exceed targets
- Ability to identify, qualify and pursue business opportunities for improvement
- Demonstrated use of initiative, planning and problem solving
- Broad understanding of account management
