Credit Officer recruitment
As the Credit Officer at UBS, you will be part of the Credit Risk Control (CRC) function within the Chief Risk Officer (CRO) area, reporting to the CRC location head. Credit Risk Control is an integral part of the credit process. The team is responsible for the approval process and execution of credit facilities booked in Singapore. The Credit Officer will review and approve non-standard as well as structured credit transaction (Lombard, real estate backed loans, OTC derivatives), respond to collateral margin shortfall situations, handling queries from the originating units, and participate in the overall control framework for credit products. The team includes a servicing unit, which handles data inputs and other administrative tasks. The collateral monitoring is conducted in a different team covering all of APAC.
Key tasks and responsibilities include:
- Regular interaction with client advisors and senior management to discuss credit transactions, but also assist and educate in the set up of credit products.
- Closely involved with the specialist credit functions covering monitoring, reporting, or collateral and derivative evaluation.
- Close contact with business partners to raise awareness of credit issues through education and involvement.
- Competence and advisory function for credit products with easy access for business partners.
- Promote an integrated team and share knowledge, experience and best practices.
- Adhere to the margin call / close out process within dedicated competences and authorities.
- Perform activities diligently and follow through on identified risk issues
- Propose ideas for improvements and efficiency gains (framework and processes). Credit approval process / response within 48 hours.
- Achieve improvements in request delivery by business partners through education and interaction.
Requirements:
Our ideal candidate should have the following requisites:
- Minimum 7 years of professional experience, of which at least 5 years in a credit function (securities financing, corporate lending)
- Degree holder in Finance, Accounting, Economics or equivalent
- Any master programs in finance or accounting will be beneficial (CPA, CFA, domestic banking diploma)
- Strong in both verbal and written English is essential. Ability to converse in Cantonese and/or Mandarin would be an added advantage
