Credit Officer, Specialised Industries VP recruitment
Tier one global investment bank seeks VP Level Credit Officer as part of its Specialised Industries Corporate Credit team. The team is responsible for effective management of credit and trading risk exposures within EMEA and provides risk assessment, transaction structuring, deal execution and risk profile monitoring for counterparties throughout EMEA.
You will be responsible for:
- Deal management and execution monitoring overall credit worthiness of assigned portfolio of clients
- Liaising with business partners and product specialist to provide appropriate client solutions
- Acting as a principal credit officer for a portfolio of Corporate counterparties in EMEA, supported by Associates and Analysts
- Managing all aspects of the credit relationship for a portfolio of clients. Accountable for all transaction risks in the portfolio. This includes responsibility for: client selection; underwriting; structuring; accurate and timely risk rating; documentation and the ongoing monitoring of these risks.
- Overseeing and directing less senior Credit Officers and providing direction and coaching to them in their management of their portfolios.
- Establishing strong working relationships with business partners. Working pro-actively with business partners to balance risk and reward, optimising client relationship.
A Credit Officer is expected to understand and manage the overall counterparty credit risk portfolios of each individual client and to provide leadership for the team. This will include:-
- Strong credit analysis skills and risk judgement, and ability to defend rigorously a point of view
- In-depth knowledge of EMEA and specific industry sectors, including among others, Consumer Retail and Business Services (preferred).
- Understanding of credit risk sensitivities in the portfolio and risk drivers of the exposures
- Sound product/technical knowledge across lending, FX, rates and equities products
- Ensuring the portfolio falls within prevailing Asset Quality Standards
- Ensuring that the portfolio and credit management process are at all times rated 'satisfactory' by internal auditors, the Credit Review group and external Regulators.
- The candidate should be a strong motivator and coach to all members of the team, including Associates and also the more junior members of the team to ensure that they are professionally competent and in compliance with prevailing internal Bank policies and external regulations.
Experience/Skills:
- Extensive credit analysis experience at a major financial institution
