Responsible for executing the credit strategy for domestic and international customers to which BNY Mellon extends credit. Independently manage a large portfolio of Broker Dealer and hedge fund customers with complex, enterprise wide credit and fee based needs and opportunities. The position requires strong and decisive credit judgment with responsibilities including concise, accurate and timely written analysis, review and presentation of credit requests for approval, loan documentation, and ongoing monitoring and communication of all portfolio companies performance, including the utilization of market-based tools/resources. Responsible for negotiating loan and other credit documents. Responsible for maintaining ongoing dialogue with senior finance staff at each portfolio customer. Responsible for maintaining effective interface/communicate with executives and management of the portfolio customers. Responsible for predicting future changes/trends in ratings (credit quality) of the portfolio customers and for timely recommendations of changes in target exposure. Responsible for the timely and accurate rating of each borrower in the portfolio and promptly escalate deteriorating credit situations. Responsible for identifying industry trends and providing recommendations regarding industry credit exposure. The incumbent will be expected to be part of the team developing a pool of risk. In addition, in certain circumstances, assist in the facilitation of overnight borrowings and the issuance of letters of credit. Responsible to ensure AIMS, CRIS and KYC data accuracy for each portfolio customer. Must have a complete understanding of BNY Mellon products and be able to identify cross-sell opportunities and coordination with the responsible product areas (including participation in team meetings, account planning and customer communication/presentations, as appropriate). A strong understanding of securities clearance and Tri-Party activity is preferred. Responsible for assisting in the training of Analysts and providing guidance to other Credit Relationship Managers or Credit Risk staff members.

Qualifications

Minimum 10 years experience in risk and commercial lending/relationship management in the financial or professional services industry. Proven track record in managing complex relationships. Strong credit judgment including the ability to analyze market data and ascertain credit quality impact. Strong oral and written communication skill; strong analytical thinking and problem solving skills and ability to work independently are required. Bachelor s degree required, major in Finance or Accounting preferred. MBA preferred or equivalent. PC literacy including Bloomberg expertise is needed. Travel is required. The Credit Relationship Manager III will have responsibility for problem solving, the level III has more autonomy as it relates to strategic planning, industries and borrowers. Independently resolves client issues with credit exposure. Have oversight responsibility and training responsibilities (20% of the time). In a position to be the primary contact for the company, senior manager and clients related to issues round the product suite. Lastly, have complete independence. Must have a complete understanding of BNY Mellon products and be able to identify independently cross-sell opportunities and coordination with the responsible product areas (including participation in team meetings, account planning and customer communication/presentations, as appropriate). The position requires independent analysis of industry and economic trends, and the ability to translate the conclusion of this analysis in order to create recommendations related to overall strategic credit approach in relation to industry concentrations and the extension of credit to independent borrowers. Position also requires the ability to successfully and independently resolve client problems arising from the corporate strategy of reducing overall credit exposure. Additionally, as one of the primary BNYMellon contacts for senior finance staff at clients that represent some of our company's larger relationships, the position requires the ability to identify and negotiate internal solutions relating to BNYMellon provided services. Position has independent complex credit decisions which can have substantial affect potential credit loss and reduces non-credit revenue. Position also has direct interaction with customers and is positioned to identify revenue opportunities. Maintain ongoing dialogue with senior finance staff at each portfolio customer. Maintain effective interface/communication with executives and management of the portfolio customers. Assist in the training of Analysts or other Credit Risk staff members .
