Credit Research Group (Japanese speaking)

Responsibilities and Overview:

The Credit Risk Management Advisory Departmentis a central part of the IB risk management framework, with primary responsibility for assessing, monitoring and managing credit risk at the Firm. As a member of Credit risk management you will interface with a variety of divisions around the firm (Securities, Banking, Legal, Compliance, Operations, etc.) as well as the other regional offices.  The interaction with numerous departments and the diverse projects that ensue allow for a challenging, varied and multi-dimensional work environment.

Singapore office works closely with offices in various other locations across several key functions: 

• Product risk management, including credit limit and settlement risk monitoring, limit exception management, risk exposure analysis and reporting, and post-trade risk management processes.  All of these areas are critical to clients’ ability to effectively monitor and manage the risks we take across the counterparties with whom we trade

• Counterparty evaluation, including assessing and monitoring the creditworthiness of the firm’s trading counterparties and borrowers by completing fulsome reviews of their financial and business profiles

Analysts in the Credit Research Group will be responsible for assessing and monitoring the creditworthiness of the firm’s trading counterparties and borrowers (e.g. banks, industrials, hedge funds) by completing fulsome reviews of their financial and business profiles.    Analysts will learn how to monitor current events and produce qualitative commentaries for regional credit risk colleagues and managers on how they impact counterparty/borrower credit quality.  Over time, a you should develop some industry expertise and knowledge of how to communicate broad industry trends, while interacting with CRMA colleagues in a number of other offices across the globe.

Experience/Skills:

• Fluency in written Japanese required

• Highly motivated with strong academic background

• Team player with an ability to work effectively with colleagues in other regional offices

• Flexibility, ability to learn quickly

• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple assignments concurrently

• Functional background or relevant experience in finance and accounting preferred
