This vacancy is on the Global Counterparty Review (GCR) team of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM), which is expanding to meet the bank's growth in credit-related products.
Global Counterparty Review performs comprehensive reviews of State Street's on- and off-balance sheet credit exposure by working independently and in collaboration with line areas to provide Senior Management with the tools and reports necessary to measure and manage credit and counterparty risk.
- Conducts independent risk analyses and assessments of bank's capital markets units and their counterparties
- Consults with various stakeholders - including business management, Credit Approval, Legal and Finance - regarding credit and/or counterparty information and advice
- Identifies material credit concerns and exceptions to guidelines
- Evaluates the effectiveness of credit processes and credit and counterparty risk guidelines, identifying gaps and recommending improvements and changes as appropriate
- Serves on relevant committees and participates in or leads a variety of task force assignments and as a liaison for GCR and ERM to the business units, Corporate Audit and external regulators
- Works closely with counterparts in Enterprise Risk Management on related risk management issues
- Provides mentoring to junior team members
- May have management responsibility for one or more counterparty review teams and may serve as a back-up to the Director, Counterparty Review
Initiatives are underway to redesign and refocus the team, so the candidate must be highly motivated, proactive and flexible. The ideal candidate would also possess the following:
- 10+ years of experience in a financial services organization
- 5+ years of credit and/or capital markets risk management experience
- Experience with foreign exchange, securities finance, trading limits, ISDA/CSA terms and/or collateral management is preferred
- Demonstrated ability to evaluate complex credit relationships
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational and writing skills, as well as proficiency with financial modeling, portfolio analytics and data analysis
- Ability to develop business relationships with senior management and others throughout the organization
- Equivalent to a B.S. degree in Business, Finance, or related field
- MBA, MSF or CFA preferred.
