Credit Risk Analyst
The candidate will be degree educated with finance background, and have 5+ years credit experience preferably acquired in commodity trading.
Key Accountabilities:
The main tasks of the successful applicant will be:
- To manage a general portfolio of counterparties; establishing and maintaining credit relationships.
- Recommending credit ratings / limits and credit enhancement as appropriate
- Analysing financial statements and preparing credit reviews for a broad range of counterparts across a broad range of jurisdictions.
- The candidate will perform financial and general analysis on existing and new customers to assess creditworthiness.
- Reviewing and analysing daily credit exposure reports, escalating any breaches to management
- Mitigation of credit risk through the structuring and negotiation of suitable credit terms for inclusion in standard and bespoke contracts.
- Update credit and filing databases on a regular basis and conform to management reporting requirements.
- Pro-active management of counterparty credit exposures, including initiation of discussions with counterparties.
Skills characteristics required for success in the role:
- Significant relevant corporate credit analysis experience, preferably within a banking or commodities trading environment.
- Solid fundamentals of credit risk analysis, the understanding of financial accounts (PL, Balance Sheet), credit and cashflow analysis.
- Ability to identify main risk areas and present them clearly.
- Ability to manage a portfolio of counterparties across various sectors.
- Well organised and able to work to strict deadlines.
- Good attention to detail and accuracy, and ability to prepare well structured credit appraisals.
- Good communication and negotiating ability to initiate and co-ordinate credit discussions both internally and externally.
Education Qualifications:
- Ideally a graduate with a degree in a business related discipline.
