Credit Risk Analyst, Leveragd/Structured Finance recruitment
The successful candidate cshould be open to relocating overseas in this role.
This role will report directly into the Chief Risk Officer and will be a facilitator of the Due Diligence Committee and primary RM contact for selected investment departments.
Main responsibilities will include:
Review and monitor credit and counterparty risk policies and monitor the credit risk exposures.
Lead and undertake ad hoc investment / investment manager reviews from a risk management perspective.
Support due diligence reviews of new investments and be a key facilitator for the Due Diligence Committee process for new investments, and make recommendations and presentations to the CRO.
Lead the continued development and implementation of an institution-wide counterparty and credit risk management framework, related policies, tools, reporting and monitoring processes.
Analyse the counterparty and credit risk exposures of new and existing investments.
Conduct in-depth on-site reviews of the credit worthiness of new and existing financial counterparties such as broker and swap counterparties as well as fund managers on an ad hoc and regular basis.
Analyse new transaction proposals across hedge fund, equity debt funds, private equity,
infrastructure, RMBS, direct principal investments with a focus on credit risk related issues.
Assess distressed debt, leveraged loans and corporate debt investments by analysing the company's financial statements, the capital structure, the competitive positioning, industry trends, the value creation and advise the CRO and investment departments on the associated credit risk.
Experience and skills required:
University Degree (MA or MBA) in a investment related field (finance, economics, mathematics) or CFA and a BA / BSc from a top university.
Other additional qualifications are a plus: FRM, CPA.
Minimum 5 years experience of hands-on credit analysis of leveraged loans, mezzanine debt, high yield debt in a Risk Management role, ideally in an underwriting role.
Strong knowledge of financial accounting and financial statement analysis.
Multi asset class product knowledge, but strength in fixed income and credit products.
Experience in assessing and rating company debt, structured transactions and notes.
Strong Excel, Word, PowerPoint programming skills eg. VBA, C++, etc.
Product knowledge: Corporate Debt, RMBS (Residential Mortgage-Backed Securities), CMBS (Commercial mortgage-backed securities), Leveraged Loans, Mezzanine Debt, Distressed Debt Solid credit quantitative skills: knowledgeable of the credit risk models.
Excellent organizational skills with a proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong analytical skills
Strong communication and presentation skills in English (business fluency essential, spoken and written)
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact effectively with staff at all levels of seniority and from different cultural backgrounds.
