Credit Risk Analyst (Natural Resources) recruitment

In this role, you will be responsible for the credit risk analysis of a portfolio of counterparties in the natural resources sector. You will prepare, present and recommend credit proposals to the relevant sanctioning level. The role will also involve ongoing monitoring and review of credit exposures.

You will focus on a portfolio of clients within the Natural Resources space (Oil Gas, Mining Metals, Pulp Paper).

Key Responsibilities:

• Recommendation of limits/reviews to higher sanctioning authorities/ committees.

• Monitoring of allocated portfolio and industries for material developments affecting credit quality and the initiation of appropriate action. This will be based on:

• Financial risk analysis (balance sheet, PL and cash flow) of clients including supporting the annual review process.

• Assessment of management and business risk.

• Spreadsheet modelling (basic) – Building simple models or stress testing those provided by other financial institutions in support of requests/transactions.

• Research - Industry sector/client specific pertaining to individual transactions where circumstances warrant i.e. new territory (emerging market), environmental considerations, regulatory issues.

• Attend credit-focused client calls.

• Present certain annual reviews and new money requests to a credit committee composed of senior sanctioners.

• Attend business committee and uphold a regular dialogue with different stakeholders (Sales, IBD, portfolio management, legal, operations…)

• Participate in team and/or department wide initiatives.

Requirements

• Honours degree standard or relevant professional qualification.

• Good commercial experience working within Credit, preferably in an international banking environment. Strong candidates with different backgrounds would be considered.

• Preference will be given to candidates with strong European language skills.

• Experience in the natural resources space preferred, keen interest essential.
