Credit Risk Underwriter
Based in the City of London you will originate and underwrite comprehensive Credit Risk Insurance business for the Capital Risk Solutions division of a well-known and regarded insurer. The role sits as part of a small but dynamic team. The scope of business underwritten ranges from complex structured corporate and project finance loans through to straight forward trade finance transactions.
Transactional banking experience is required (preferably project or structured finance); Familiarity with Credit Risk Insurance wold be an advantage.
Your key duties and responsibilities will include:
- Responsibility for underwriting, structuring, negotiating and closing single risk credit insurance transactions.
- Acting as a focal point for new business submissions that the division receives from specific brokers.
- Maintaining and developing relationships with specified brokers to ensure that they are aware of the appetite for risk in areas including project finance, pre-export finance, reserve based lending and sovereign lending.
- Evaluation and analysis of business opportunities to assess whether they fall within the division’s risk and return appetite.
- Writing internal transaction specific approval documentation for submission to the “Credit Committee”.
- Co-ordinating with internal analytics team in respect of credit/country/legal risk deal review.
- Negotiation of documentation and commercial terms.
- Actively monitoring performance of assigned risks in the portfolio.
