Highland Capital has an immediate opening for a self-motivated, hard-working individual to join our trading desk.
Responsibilities
- Serve as firm’s primary bank loan trader for Highland’s CLOs, hedge funds and separate accounts, reporting to Highland’s Head of Trading
- Help back up other team members in trading high yield bonds and credit default swaps
- Develop and implement new technical trade ideas for trading book
- Interact regularly with Portfolio Managers, senior management, Wall Street brokers, and agent banks
- Create and maintain professional relationships both internally and externally
- Leverage relationships in order to identify trading opportunities
- Communicate alpha generating ideas with Portfolio Managers
Qualifications
- 3+ years of buy-side experience in credit trading (Hedge Fund experience a plus)
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or other business-related field from a top tier school
- Ability to thrive in an independent and entrepreneurial environment
- Excellent written, organizational and interpersonal skills
- Strong work ethic and professional habits
- Proficient in Bloomberg, and knowledge of Bloomberg OMS a plus
- CFA candidate preferred
