Risk Compliance teams perform analysis on the risk of loss resulting from inadequate or failed internal processes, people and systems, or from external events. Risk teams use the following tools: Operational Risk Events, Risk Control Self-Assessments, Key Risk Indicators and High-Level Assessments. The Compliance and Ethics areas are responsible for four core functions: Anti-Money Laundering, Business Conflicts, Compliance Monitoring and Dealing with Affiliates/Insiders.

Job Title:

Credit Relationship Manager, Global Financial Services Credit Group

Division:

The Global Financial Services Group in London is responsible for managing the company's non-US Broker/Dealer, Alternative Investment Services and Insurance credit portfolio. The group works closely with London, NY and Asia based colleagues to develop and structure credit relationships with European broker dealers, investment banks, hedge funds, other non-bank financial institutions and insurance companies in support of the overall relationship with these entities.

Role:

The Credit Relationship Manager will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients and assuming all credit responsibilities for these clients, including traditional credit facilities as well as operational credit support. The Credit Relationship Manager will manage the entire credit process encompassing initial internal and client liaison, structuring and negotiation, processing approvals internally, documentation and ongoing portfolio management. The role will include counterparty and financial statement credit analysis.

Reporting Lines:

Reports to the Head of Global Financial Services Credit in London.

Qualifications

Key responsibilities:

Financial and Credit analysis of European counterparties and prospects.

Credit request structuring and approval through the relevant portfolio manager.

Term sheet and closing documentation negotiation.

Prepare ad-hoc financial and documentary reviews.

Propose risk ratings for the Bank's credit clients enabling accurate credit risk assessment across the Bank's portfolio.

Work closely with relevant business sectors, portfolio manager and external clients to monitor the portfolio on an ongoing basis.

The ideal candidate will have the following skills/knowledge:

Minimum experience of 3 years in commercial lending and credit relationship management experience in the financial services industry.

Formal credit training preferably covering the non-bank financial institution sector for a major financial institution. Experience of the insurance sector would be advantageous.

Broad knowledge of the securities industry and related banking products including repo transactions, securities custody and clearing, cash settlement and fund management.

Ability to effectively and confidently interact with the client, BNY Mellon business partner areas and the credit approval hierarchy is expected. The candidate should display strong credit judgment including knowledge of industry dynamics and risks as well as the macro economic factors affecting our client base.

Understanding of FX and derivative products and the allocation of credit lines to support these activities.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Experience of ISDA/CSA, custody, clearing and Euro-loan documentation negotiation preferable.

Ability to work independently and prioritize, producing accurate and timely work under pressure is essential.
