CRES Financial Accountant
Our client, a top tier investment bank is looking to recruit a financial accountant in their Global Real Estate team. Global Real Estate (GRE) EMEA is responsible for the banks real estate portfolio in Europe, Middle East and Africa, covering 90 operating centres in 32 countries and managing an annual expense budget of $500 millions, assets of $2 billions and liabilities of $900 millions.
Responsibilities:
•Manage capital expenditure WIP accounts and prepare journals for transfers to fixed assets
•Provide capital spend by project for inclusion in EMEA Design and Construction report
•Create and update exit reserve calculations using DCF techniques, prepare monthly journals, reconcile with financial ledgers and reporting to USA
•Prepare EMEA real estate balance sheets from SAP reports and prepare variance and monthly movement commentary by country, and report to USA
•Plan input for capital expenditure, depreciation and exit reserves
•Maintain integrity of legal entity accounting
•Calculate quarterly pre-funding to comply with Regulation W requirements
•Calculate and report accelerated depreciation associated with exit sites
•Monthly General Ledger substantiation using the GLRS system
•GL maintenance for new cost codes and chart of accounts
•Involvement with UAT and implementation of Brave real estate project
•Year end liaison with legal entity auditors
•Supply tax department with year end capital expenditure analysis for capital allowance claims
•Assist with development of improved reporting procedures

Person:
•ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified with post qualification experience
•Real Estate accounting knowledge desirable but not essential
•US GAAP knowledge desirable
•Experience of working in a multi-currency environment desirable
•Team player but also able to work on their own initiative
•Positive, flexible can-do attitude and the ability to remain calm under pressure
•Able to use and reconcile information from a number of sources
•Comfortable working in a large and complex organisation
•Ability to establish good working relationships across various disciplines in multiple locations across the organisation
Systems Experience:
•Essential - advanced Excel
•Desirable – experience of complex group accounting systems, Essbase (Hyperion ) Excel add-in
