University of Pittsburgh Physicians (UPP) was established in 1999 with the affiliation agreement with the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. UPP offers an academic mission, including education and research, for the 23 clinical departments.
We are currently seeking experienced candidates for a full-time CRNP or Physician Assistant (PA) to support the Department of Pediatrics, Intestinal Failure and Rehabilitation service for our UPMC Physician Services location at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC. The work hours for this position are Monday through Friday 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., no weekends, holidays or call. The responsibilities for CRNP/PA entail inpatient care for the Intestinal Care and Rehabilitation program, a nationally recognized leader in intestinal failure care. In addition, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team that provides complex, integrated care to a pediatric population of chronic patients with both acute and long term management issues. Preferred experience with a pediatric population in a chronic care environment is a plus.
**Applicants with relevant pediatric gastroenterology experience will be considered as Level II applicants at the corresponding, higher salary range.**
Basic Qualifications:
Physician Assistant (PA):
- Graduate of a Physician Assistant program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) is required
- BS or MS candidate is preferred
- Experience as a physician assistant and/or experience in a clinical setting is preferred
- Prior experience in pediatrics and/or providing care for a chronic population is preferred
CRNP:
- The successful completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner program is required
- BSN, MSN is preferred
- Professional nursing experience and/or nurse practitioner experience is preferred
- Prior experience in pediatrics and/or providing care for a chronic population is preferred
**Act 33/34/73 Clearances are required within first 30 days of employment
