Custodian (Reference 11-082) Facilities and Transportation Dept of Oak Ridge Associated Universities (ORAU) is seeking a Custodian for evening shift position to provide a full range of routine and special project (stripping, waxing, buffing, shampooing, furniture cleaning) services in an office and laboratory areas of the ORAU/ORISE (Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education) facilities. JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent with a min of 6 mos to a year previous custodial experience in a commercial or institutional setting. Custodial knowledge, skill, and exp requirements to include: office, conference room, kitchen, and restroom cleaning; operation of commercial high-speed and low-speed buffers and carpet extractors; stripping and waxing hard surface floors; use of various custodial cleaning chemicals, equipment, and supplies; adherence to personal protective equipment (PPE) and clothing requirements; understanding material safety data sheets; utilization of basic custodial safety principles and planning safety into each project. Must possess excellent customer service and communication skills and have the ability to learn and utilize basic computer and E-mail skills. This position works a normal 8 or 9 hour shift beginning at 3:00 PM each day or as arranged by the Custodial Manager. Infrequent OT required.
