To qualify you must have excellent verbal written communication skills. Must be a self-motivated team player with the desire to succeed. The successful applicant must have at least 2 years customer service experience that included heavy phone volume/ call center.  PC proficiency is a must including Microsoft Word Excel.

 

JOB SUMMARY

The Customer Service Representative will work with outside sales representatives and other members of the sales team to grow existing customers and create new customers while increasing customer satisfaction.  Handle customer contacts received by telephone, electronic, or in written format.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

 

1.                    Generate new and repeat sales by providing product and technical information in a timely manner

2.                    Determine customer requirements and expectations in order to recommend specific products and solutions

3.                    Recommend alternate products based on cost, availability or specifications

4.                    Present price, credit and terms in accordance with standard procedures and customers’ account profiles

5.                    Accurately process customer transactions such as orders, quotes or returns

6.                    Provide accurate information regarding availability of in-stock items

7.                    Proactively recommend items needed by customers to increase customer satisfaction and improve transaction profitability

8.                    Increase sales and average order size by means of cross-selling, up-selling, add-on sales and offering promotional sale items during customer interactions

9.                    Educate customers about terminology, features and benefits of products in order to improve product related sales and customer satisfaction

10.                 Use research skills to trouble shoot customer problems

11.                 Monitor scheduled shipment dates to ensure timely delivery and expedite as needed.  Resolve shipping issues (i.e. track shipments, complete replacement orders, file damage claims against freight companies, etc.)

12.                 Contact customers following sales to ensure ongoing customer satisfaction and resolve any complaint

13.                 Fill requests for catalogs, information or samples

14.                 Remain current on product developments through interaction with sales staff and reviewing current and previous catalogs and other product resources

15.                 Setup and maintain customer files

16.                 Identify trends in customer satisfaction or dissatisfaction with product or service by documenting interactions in a complaint file

17.                 Manage time effectively, meet personal goals and work effectively with other members of the customer service team

18.                 Assist in scheduled physical inventory counts in sample room

19.                 Maintain proficiency in using personal computer terminal and other common office equipment and software

20.                 Follow company policies and procedures

21.                 Maintains solid customer relationships by handling questions and concerns with speed and professionalism

22.                 Present a professional image at all times to customers and sales representatives

23.                 Perform other duties as assigned.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

 

1.                    Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing.

2.                    Must have the necessary digital dexterity to operate all machines necessary to perform the job functions, such as computer keyboard and calculator.

3.                    Must be able to interpret and process all forms and documentation that pertain to the job function.

4.                    Ability to multi-task.

5.                    Must be able to lift/carry light loads of paper, files, and packages.
