Spartanburg Water has an immediate opening for a CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE. Performs face-to-face and phone contact with customers while utilizing the customer service computer system. The representative answers questions and addresses customer issues while providing prompt and professional service. Processes applications for new customer services; determines deposit requirements and inputs data into computer system. Handles customer issues concerning billing; researches customer accounts, provides timely and courteous responses to customers, completes billing adjustments and generates work orders for service. May also perform cashiering activities such as receiving customer payments, processing credit card and mail payments, handling night deposits, preparing daily cash reports and organizing money received for deposit.
Excellent communication skills required. Must be able to work well with customers both face-to-face and over the phone ensuring their confidential information. Must be able to perform cashiering and money handling duties.
Minimum Requirements: High school diploma with 6 months experience as customer service representative, or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Must satisfactorily complete background check and physical, including drug testing.
