Kleinfelder is seeking a Dam Safety Senior Geotechnical Engineer/Project Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will have quality academic and professional engineering experience in embankment and concrete (RCC) dams, levees, and other water retaining structures. This person will function as a senior level technical specialist and project manager on mid-large scale projects.
Candidates should have experience in the application of geotechnical engineering to the design of new facilities and rehabilitation components. The work will include investigation, inspections, analyses, design, preparation of plans and specifications, and construction engineering. Preferred candidates will be able to demonstrate a history of being able to work both independently on medium-sized assignments, and as a leader of a team on large dam/civil engineering assignments. Position will require significant client interaction and leadership /mentoring of staff. Will support marketing and proposal efforts as part of a team.

Requirements:
- Must have at least 10-20 years of progressively responsible experience in geotechnical engineering design of new dam facilities and rehabilitation components.
- Experience in cost estimating and scheduling is required. Working knowledge of risk methodologies and potential failure mode analysis is a plus.
- Proven experience in managing medium size projects
- Superior client and people management skills, ability to communicate effectively (written/oral)
- Proven experience with marketing and proposal development
- Active involvement in related professional societies strongly desired.
Education: MS in geotechnical engineering required. Desirable candidate with BS or Ph.D. will be considered. P.E. required, G.E. a plus.
