The Data Solutions Operations (DSO)?group currently has an opening for a Data Analyst to join the team.?The Data Solutions Operations group is accountable for leveraging data management best practice to improve the sophistication of SP's analytical data capabilities in areas such as surveillance, quantitative analysis, product development and risk management.? Within and across each of the global Data Solutions Operations pillars are teams of people with expertise in data management who partner together to make data and information efficiently available for analytical activities and for new products and services, and work closely with IT to build and maintain critical database systems utilizing SP-wide technology and architecture standards.

In this key role within the Data Quality team, you will be an instrumental participant in the planning and execution of projects and data processes, and interface with a variety of internal stakeholders and providers in order to ensure the accurate and timely delivery of data and related quality controls to support Standard Poor's ratings businesses.

Essential Accountabilities:
- Participate in the delivery of data analysis to meet the needs of various Business Units, includes responsibility for timely delivery of tasks and deliverables within projects.
- Participate in the definition of requirements for data quality with Business sponsors and develop and implement key performance indicators (KPI) to monitor compliance against those requirements. Continually review, evaluate and report on data sources and how the Business Units use the data.
- Undertake ownership for ongoing data quality metrics and audits liaising, as required, with Business Unit teams and other Operations teams locally and globally.
- Contribute to the development of plans that describe the implementation of data priorities. This includes steps to gather, validate, and archive required data as well as requirements to implement and incorporate data management activities within the Data Operations teams.
- Recommend solutions and procedures to the business which include the necessary tasks to achieve high quality data and which take into consideration other systems/ software utilized for other purposes to allow consistency and prevent re-work. Implements such solutions and procedures within Data operations. Ensure all projects take into consideration the overall data strategy of the organization.
- Perform root cause analysis on smaller self-contained data analysis tasks that may be related to assigned data processes.
Develop and run ad hoc data queries from multiple database types to identify and correct data inconsistencies. - Provide training on data tasks to other members of the Data teams - may include assisting in the development and maintenance of technical documentation.
Role includes overseeing and ability to enhance the data management system for Insurance data on a global basis.
Skills
Applicant should have knowledge and expertise in mapping process to make Insurance data available in specified format output purposes as required
Role includes extensive work with IT and other DSO pillars to deliver IT Projects to time and to specification.
Role will include ability to oversee and confirm the data content requirements in terms of specifying requirements and testing plan for Project Deliverables.
Role will include working with CASA to secure Content requirements for Insurance data across the globe.
Ability to to quickly develop close relationships with Insurance Analysts to ensure that DSO continues to transfer all data responsibilities to DSO Ratings
Good working knowledge of SQL would be an advantage
The role will involve the responsibility to co-ordinate the Analysts Data Expert team to support all Insurance Analysts data support requirements and therefore the selected individual must have excellent communication, training and documentation skills to enable formalising of Data Management process and communicating DSO skills and expertise to all stakeholders
