The Role
We are looking for an experienced data analyst who will take ownership of all aspects of a specific product stock database.
The role will include a significant proportion of development time, particularly in the creation of new factors and blending data sources with suitable quality controls.
Working closely with Fund Managers who will be using the data to determine investment decisions and Researchers who are also concerned with historical datasets as well the IT team.
Work closely with Fund Managers, other Data Analysts and IT to develop timely and accurate data, strategies and applications required for the investment process.
Development of tools required across the investment process, from data creation and checking to portfolio construction and risk management.
Rapid deployment of new data items, transforms and investment strategies
Enhance accuracy and timeliness of existing historical database
Undertake independent research in order to suggest new variables or the refinement of existing ones

Skills / Experience
The successful candidate is likely to have had experience in a similar role, ideally within an investment management company.
Significant applied experience of SQL and an application development language (preferably Matlab)
Experience with large financial data sets coupled with a familiarity with company accounts and an understanding of the main concepts of stock analysis
A good degree in a numeric field, preferably Statistics, Operational Research, Economics or a Finance related course
