Data Analyst
Immediate opportunity 5 month+ contract opportunity for a Data Analyst in San Francisco with a destination Bay Area employer. Your responsibilities will include working as a member of the Data Quality team, providing data content analysis and data quality verification activities. Specific tasks may involve: Profile single or multi-data source data sets to detect patterns or identifying inconsistencies Supporting end-to-end test activities, ensuring data fidelity is maintained across data transformation layers and providing explanation for discrepancies Responding to data analysis and data quality investigation requests Developing or enhancing data dictionary or source to target mapping documents Skills Required: 5 or more years of strong analytical and problem solving skills, with emphasis on data analysis Strong knowledge of SQL and Excel Prior experience as data analyst business intelligence, data integration, master data management, or data migration Ability to rapidly understand business requirements and communicate business expectations to cross-functional development teams Skills to gather and document requirements using process flows, use cases, interviews, workshops, and investigation of current state business rules Ability to assemble, analyze and evaluate data and to be able to make appropriate and well-reasoned recommendations and decisions to the stakeholders and the software engineering team Experience with data quality assessment, cleansing, and improvement efforts Experience with data profiling or cleansing tools Effective communication skills
