Purpose of Role:
State Street is in the process of enhancing its outsource service provision through Client projects by deploying leading edge technology and services for its clients. SSC has demonstrated excellent success in recent times with major client wins covering in excess of 10 locations worldwide, including UK, Europe, South Africa and USA, for the outsource arrangements of Fund Accounting and Investment Operations. SSC are increasing its talent to support the planning, development and roll-out of the Enterprise project within the Investment Operations arena and require keen and experienced investment operations business professionals to play a key role in the delivery of a successful solution.
Specific Duties:
- Run daily controls on data integrity with in the data warehouse, and provide business analysis
- Leverage Analysis to create new strategic controls which will be implemented by the operations teams in PROD
- Understand business operation process, and the requirements they place on the IT infrastructure in the data warehouse to make informed recommendations for improvements on the data warehouse process
- Daily maintenance of core and reporting infrastructure with in the data warehouse.
- Data Mapping Analysis
- Regular reviews with Morgan Stanley personnel to understand current and future support requirements and involvement in the development of long term solutions to these.
- Assist in the transitions process of new accounts and products
- Participate in local / global projects and initiatives, taking a lead role where required.
- Coordinate with internal departments to meet client needs.
- Work independently to research and resolve problems considering multiple avenues for resolution.
- Communicate effectively on issues / problems to the Client and to SSC management and ensure a proper and timely follow-up to ensure resolution.
- Provide guidance, act as resource and assist team members as needed
- Maintain clear and effective communications with immediate colleagues and Senior Management
- Adhere to internal procedures and best practices at all times
Required Skills:
- Excellent analytical, consultative interviewing skills and ability to analyse on the spot.
- Good management, leadership and team working skills.
- Strong writing, communication and presentation skills to audiences of different sizes and levels of seniority.
- Must be self-motivated, adaptable and show initiative in different circumstances and under pressure.
- Flexibility in working outside of your responsibilities and areas of expertise.
- PC literate Word, Excel, PowerPoint necessary.
- SQL or similar data query language
Other:
- Requirement for business travel domestically and possibly at short notice
- Flexible working hours will be required.
Serves as a business analyst for all areas of investment management operations within the data warehouse. Analyses complex business requirements and provides solutions for operating models and implementation options. Responsible for the acquisition, analysis and dissemination of subject matter knowledge. Conducts detailed business analysis involving complex requirements and processes and presents results to the Operations Management Team. Responsible for providing solutions to optimize operating models. Bachelors Degree in finance, business, technology or equivalent required. Broad and in-depth understanding of the Financial Services industry. Understanding of standards, methodologies, processes, systems and technology necessary to support Financial Services operations. Experience of writing business specifications and data mapping. Good analytical and consultative interviewing skills. Strong writing, communication and presentation skills.

- Bachelors Degree in finance, business, technology or equivalent
