Data Engineer / Architect
DrEd Online Doctor is looking to hire an experienced Data Engineer / Architect.
We are an ambitious, focused and fun team built of 42 doctors, developers, ops and marketers - all passionate about re-imagining the world’s health care so that it is radically simpler, faster and more affordable.
With our business expanding at pace, demand for accurate, insightful data to help individuals make smart decisions is growing fast. As the first data engineer at DrEd, this is a great opportunity for an ambitious person to design, build and continuously develop our central data warehouse, including automating integrations with different systems and tools. You will have the opportunity to see the benefits of your work, as data-led insights drive improvements in patient safety, better targeting of marketing efforts and efficiencies in our operations.
Main requirements
- Demonstrable, hands-on experience of building data warehouses, capable of integrating a range of data sources, with experience of what works and what doesn’t
- Excellent database skills, including fluency in SQL
- Experience of using open-source and cloud technologies
- Clear communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts in straightforward terms
- Experience of working in a start-up with a bias for action and getting their hands dirty
Nice to have
- Experience of implementing self-service based business intelligence tools (Looker, Tableau etc.) would be advantageous
- Experience with machine learning approaches and big data technologies (Hadoop, Hive) also a plus
