Data Governance Specialist recruitment

The team is responsible for implementing and monitoring the Data Governance Framework throughout the Financial Markets organisation. This includes the creation of Data Governance Principles which define the ground rules and set direction for governance of financial asset data as well as the constitution of a Data Governance Policies applying the principles to specific Data Subject Areas and framing the operational procedures. In addition the team defines and controls an Organisation Design which describes the roles and responsibilities required to implement effective data governance (e.g. the Data Governance Board chaired by the CIO) and it publishes centrally a Data Dictionary to document from a business perspective, the definitions, RACI responsibilities, standards and metrics for each Data Subject Area. A key element is to define and ensure high Data Quality Standards and Monitoring Processes which define measurable metrics and targets for each attribute. For this the Data Governance team maintain various Monitoring Tools allowing efficient adherence to quality standards.

This role includes the monitoring and reporting of data quality standards and policies along defined metrics. It will prepare and hold various Data Governance Bodies with the key focus being the Data Governance Board chaired by the CIO. Furthermore, the role will require enhancing and overseeing the Data Dictionary, reviewing with the various Data Owners responsibilities and processes to ensure high quality. It will further develop with the various business functions being AM, Risk, Finance and IT enhancements to continuously improve data quality for the AM and AM related functions. The team works closely together with various units within the AM division as well as outside its domain.

1.        E- Band Responsibilities:
Responsibilities includes, but are not limited to

• Monitoring and reporting on Data Governance framework, keeping track of breaches and execute escalation when necessary
• Creation of high level data monitoring reports for Data Quality Forum (chaired by Head Data Governance)
• Ensure ability to monitor Data Governance policy
• Regular execution of various Data Governance reports used to oversee progress of Data Governance activities including updating of status and findings towards AM COO
• Monitoring and reporting on defined key data quality metrics
• Enhance and maintain the Data Dictionary
• Any other job related tasks as instructed by Supervisor

The position holder should have the ability to contribute to the implementation of above described tasks and provide input on how best and most efficient these processes can be defined and implemented.

The position holder will interact with various stakeholders in different locations internally and externally of Swiss Re. If needed, the position holder will take up a coordination role among the stakeholders to assure successful completion of tasks.

E-Band Requirements
• Degree holder in a relevant discipline with experience in the financial services industry
• Demonstrable knowledge of a broad range of financial market products
