Data Operations Team Lead recruitment
We are seeking a motivated, self-starter to join Bloomberg PolarLake in building an Enterprise Data Management (EDM) managed service for the financial industry. This is an exciting ground-floor opportunity, as this new product is in the early stages of development. Based in the Dublin office you will assist the newly appointed Global Head of Data Operations to build out the managed service operations team for both Security Master and Pricing services for financial service clients, initially undertaking the daily operational tasks of managing the acquisition and cleansing of data from the many multi-vendor sources. The successful candidate will have the unique opportunity to expand his/her remit as the team and business ambitiously expands.
The Data Operations team will be responsible for ensuring that multi-vendor data is acquired, managed, cleansed and distributed to clients using the PolarLake data management platform.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for day-to-day operational activities which will include:
- Monitor the receipt of financial data feeds from external vendors, as well as our client’s proprietary data.
- Review exception management queues and taking appropriate action to correct exceptions.
- Responding to ad-hoc queries from customers and ensuring that a high quality service is provided to Bloomberg PolarLake clients according to a defined Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
- Research data quality issues, identifying resolutions and updating systems as required
- Design and develop operational processes and procedures for the team as required by the Global Head of Data Operations.
- Drive data quality through continuous process improvement.
- Drive changes for improvement to workflow activities.
- Participate in user acceptance testing during initial on-boarding of managed service clients
- Manage the Service Level Agreements and other Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and review with clients on a regular basis
Qualifications and experience:
- Bachelor Degree in Finance/Business or in related discipline; or equivalent work experience
- Experience utilizing security master and pricing data
- Experience working in a financial services data management organization
- Strong analytic and problem solving skills. Tenacity to resolve issues which may be complex and will require extensive knowledge of the financial markets
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Must be a self-starter, able to cope with undertaking many different roles initially as the team is built out
- Ability to work under tight deadlines with demanding clients
- Must be organized, detail-oriented and have the ability to multitask
- Strong PC skills including Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.
