Data Sales Energy Trading

My client is a growing international software company seeking several new Sales Representatives for their global offices for our Market Data and Analytics product which is a Web-based Decision Support Centre for traders to access real time and historical spot and futures prices and analysis from leading exchanges and sources for commodities markets such as ICE, NYMEX, LME, Platts and Dow Jones. Their customers are traders of petroleum products, metals/steel, biofuels, agriculture and other commodities. They represent all size companies including the world's leading Oil Majors, National Oil Companies, trading firms, brokers and banks. The job is multi-dimensional, and includes customer retention and new business sales.

Detailed Requirements

* Listening to customer requirements and presenting appropriately to make a sale
* Maintaining and developing relationships with existing customers in person, via phone email
* Negotiating and managing contracts with existing client base
* Arranging meetings with potential customers to prospect for new business
* Negotiating the terms of an agreement and closing sales
* Representing the organization at trade exhibitions, events and demonstrations
* Advising on forthcoming product developments and discussing special promotions
* Recording sales and prospect information in Salesforce.com
* Gaining a clear understanding of customers' businesses and requirements
* Attending team meeting and sharing experiences with colleagues

The Person:

I'm looking for someone who has an entrepreneurial spirit and passion for finding new business. You must have a friendly and open manner when dealing with existing clients and have experience or a good understanding of how commodities are bought and sold using real-time and historical market data from leading sources, such as NYMEX, ICE, Platts, LME, Argus and others. The role requires someone that can deal on all levels, from training individual users on our services to holding high level discussions with senior management about companywide proposals. You will be required to liaise with other team members and construct strategies for targeting larger prospects on a joint basis and be able to construct a sales plan for the region.

* Energy, Oil, Metals/Steel Sales experience a plus
* Understanding of selling subscription services for online business information
* Educated to degree level or equivalent
* Self-motivated and highly driven
* A team player but capable of working autonomously
* Able to manage a number of initiatives at one time
