The right candidate will have strong SQL Server 2005 experience with specific SSIS knowledge and strong MS Analysis Services understanding with 3+ years of OLAP development experience (cube design, fact, dimension structure, Data Mart development, etc).
We will help with relocation for the right candidate!
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in computer technology discipline desirable.
• Strong knowledge of Data Warehousing methodologies and concepts, including and not limited to: star schemas, snowflakes, ETL processes, dimensional modeling and reporting tools
• 3 + years of experience in dimensional modeling, cube design and development using SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS)
• 5 + years DTS / SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
• Experience Multidimensional Expression (MDX) queries and Data Mining Expression (DMX) queries for analysis services
• Good working experience with OLAP and Reporting Services/MS Excel combination
• Strong data modeling experience and key understanding of relational database development.
• Significant experience in extracting data from multiple sources including a data warehouse environment.
• Knowledge of health system functions, terminology and standard coding systems preferred.
• Ability to comprehend complex technical and logical concepts and adapt quickly to changes.
• Strong quantitative, analytical, problem solving, organizational, communication and interpersonal skills are required.
• Attention to detail and maintaining high quality standards is a must.
• Ability to prioritize and manage concurrent projects, demonstrate initiative and work independently with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities:
• Analyze business and technical requirements, as well as data warehouse data models, to understand the detailed data management requirements
• Collaborate on the global data architecture design and planning for the physical structure and implementation of data warehouses and data marts.
• Design, document and build physical database environments from table, column, index and view definitions to storage requirements and drive spacing and growth accommodations.
• Work with ETL developers and data analysts to identify, design and implement solutions for extraction and integration of data to and from data warehouses and data marts for the purposes of reporting, decision support and analysis.
• Develop scripts for the creation of the physical data warehouse database schema(s), data security and protection, managing performance, performing backups/ restores, and archiving data.
• Document and standardize data structures, procedures and processes.
• Manage, Monitor and Administer database and system performance. Including optimization and tuning of data loads, extractions and recommending appropriate procedure, query or package changes and optimizations to ensure and improve system performance and reliability.
• Manage job and activity schedules to promote optimal performance, maximum availability and minimize data latency and data load durations.
Environmental and Physical Demands:
Position requires the ability to sit for long periods of time and prolonged computing sessions. Ability to concentrate on detailed work with some interruptions.
• Bachelor's degree is mandatory, clinical experience is desired or experience in a hospital, insurance biotech
• 2+ years as an analyst in the healthcare industry emphasizing on quantitative reasoning, analytical modeling, and operations reporting
• Knowledge of health system functions strongly desired including terminology and coding
• Strong ad-hoc SQL query development skills, working knowledge of relational databases and MS Word, PowerPoint, Access, Visio is mandatory
• Superior data mining, extraction, transformation, modeling, validation testing, and presentation skills are mandatory
• Reporting, technical writing and documentation experience
• Actuary experience or Statistical background is a major plus
What you will be doing:
• Medical economics, underwriting, trend calculations and reporting
• Saving projections and rate setting
• Perform complex data extractions and manipulations, which culminate in the design and production of ad-hoc analyses and reports for external clients and internal management
• Perform data validation to ensure accuracy and appropriateness of analytic models
• Perform healthcare data analysis, including quantifying cost and utilization
• Design and automate regularly scheduled reports for efficient production for multiple clients
• Prepare Executive Summary reports
• Documentation
