Description
The job holder will design, implement, and support database management structures, as well as database back-up, recovery, security, archiving and conversion strategies. S/he collaborates with application development teams on various database issues and takes a lead role in problem resolution. S/he also focuses on enhancing database performance through proactive monitoring, reporting and tuning and provides technical assistance and mentoring to various staff.
Qualifications
Minimum 3-5 years experience required. Job holder must have extensive knowledge of and experience with designing, implementing, supporting, and tuning database management structures (relational, hierarchical, distributed) and their associated platforms. S/he must also have experience in data manipulation, normalization, storage allocation, fragmentation and replication for distributed databases. Job holder must have thorough knowledge of company's total computing environment and the considerations for data migration, integration and transport across diverse platforms. S/he must be an experienced troubleshooter of database hardware, software and/or communications problems.
Oracle 11g experience and RMAN a must.
