The position will support the Teradata Datawarehouse environment at Experian Interactive Media. This person will be the primary DBA go to expert for the Teradata environment. This person is responsible for uptime and meeting the performance service level agreements for the Teradata environment.

Key Responsiblities:

  • Hands-on experience as Teradata DBA with in-depth understanding of designing, implementing, maintaining, managing, and performance tuning and Configuration of Teradata databases.
  • Expert level related to Teradata physical database implementations (e.g., in-depth understanding of skew, PPI, joins methods, data access paths, and workload management).
  • Responsible for quality control and auditing of databases to ensure accurate and appropriate use of data. Works with users to resolve data conflicts and inappropriate data usage. Maintains corporate data dictionary.
  • Analyze, define, regulate, monitor, and visualize Teradata performance, query, session, utility, and resource regulation as well as recommend service level goals
  • Hands-on experience and ability to analyze Compression need and implementation
  • Work with Data Modelers, ETL staff, BI developers, and Business System Analysts in Business/Functional Requirements review and solution design.
  • Database storage management.
  • Database scheduled back-ups and recovery and must have NetVault experience
  • Designing and implementing disaster recovery plans.
  • Carrying out day to day database maintenance activities supports the environment 24x7.
  • Skills:

  • Expert with Teradata Version 13.00.01.10.
  • Hands on Experience on Teradata Tools Utilities, like BTEQ, MLOAD, FastLoad, TPUMP, ViewPoint Etc.
  • Hand on Experience on TASM and Compression

    Requirements:

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with all departments and levels within the organization.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.
  • Must possess effective verbal written communication skills.
  • Teradata Certified Master.
  • Familiarity with Oracle RAC SQL Server.
