Chevron's Deepwater Exploration and Production Company is accepting online applications for the position of Deepwater Drilling and Completions Technologist located in Houston, Texas.

Position Details:
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

  • Support deepwater drilling operations, completions, intervention, OE, MCP, and management requests for technical limit queries, data management and tracking, offset well research, hole phase analysis, materials and related cost management, cost tracking, contract reviews, invoice processing, non-productive time research, technical presentations, single well process planning, drilling program development, safety initiatives, OE Metrics, GO-113 processing, and special projects.
  • Provide support for the following initiatives: interpretation of Wellview data, WellView data quality review and control, well trend analysis, audit scheduled and unscheduled well event time, and support DWEP DC Wellview Datamarts.
  • Participate as Wellview standard operating procedures committee team member and assist in efforts to standardize activity codes, streamline reporting requirements, submit management of change requests to the WellView DCAP DRB, review rig activity codes for accuracy and consistency, notify the drillships of coding corrections and highlight common mistakes, and lead DWEP initiative to decrease rig coding mistakes to less than 10% by year end (2011).
  • Provide technical and document management support to DC engineers during SW-CPDEP Ph 1-5.
  • Perform reporting requirements for offshore operations, related regulatory (BOEMRE) and benchmarking metrics (Rushmore, Dodson, Global DC).

    Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent .
  • Demonstrated expertise in WellView.
  • Must be familar with DC operations, data typically collected and ultimate use of data to plan and improve operations.
  • Must be able to work independently to effectively prioritize multiple tasks and parallel projects.
  • Able to conduct oneself professionally with office based technical personnel and field based non-technical personnel.
  • Challenges professionally with open, honest, multi-directional and effective communications.
  • Contributes to building an inclusive work environment.
  • Capable of analyzing and solving complex DWEP DC Business Problems.
  • Provide DWEP DC support in establishing Master Service Agreements, Contracts, Service Orders, and Work Authorizations.

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Skills with advanced features of MS Office software is preferred.
