Demand & Cost Management Innovation Director
Supply Demand Management (SDM) directs and controls all supply management activities, covering all regions, divisions and commodities for the entire bank. From a cost management perspective, SDM oversees and coordinates the group-wide activities in this area. It thereby (proactively) supports the internal business partners (especially demand managing units) to reach their savings targets.
The Team
The Cost Management (CM) team drives Group profitability through the design and successful implementation of strategic demand cost management initiatives. Our purview spans a portfolio of several billion CHF which includes the third-party spend categories across UBS.
The Role
As a member of the CM team, you will be responsible for working with key stakeholders on Cost Management. This role will require working with BD stakeholders, SDM colleagues, Cost Line Owners and other CM colleagues on a wide variety of initiatives.
You will be required to work closely with UBS functional leads, cost line owners and sourcing experts to identify and set the overall analytical framework, methodology and approach to these initiatives and ensure their execution. The CM team oversees the Idea Pipeline for Supply Demand Management, tracking the progress to ensure that costs are actually "walked out the door." The team also crystallizes the major Demand concepts and ensures that the long-term efficiency concepts are matured to final execution by UBS Cost Line owners as well as Supply Management.
Requirements
- Ability to provide overall thought leadership to solve complex, structured, problems within the demand and cost management arena
- Industry or consulting experience with experiential knowledge in spend analysis, sourcing diagnostics, future state process development understanding cost drivers balanced against top line growth
- Creativity in driving new solutions to bridge major gaps in business line budgets through demand and policy controls, seat-driven costs, enterprise-wide costs
- Ability to harvest innovation from the market for import into Business Lines
- Experience developing and executing high level business cases that have true PL impact
- Knowledge of or familiarity with best practices, market trends and / or industry benchmarks across key spend categories
- Highly-developed Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Ability to interact effectively with all levels of management, with strong oral and written communication skills
