Job description
The WW Presales Solution Consultant is responsible for providing assistance to the sales organization, and prospective/existing customers. A Solution Consultant will, with the Specialty Software Sales Representative, follow IBM-DemandTec's diagnostic sales process to understand prospective customers' critical business processes and issues; design, present and demonstrate the best possible solution; and win new business. The Solution Consultant is responsible for understanding the relative strengths and weaknesses for customers.

The Solution Consultant will work directly with the prospect throughout the sales cycle to communicate IBM's ability to meet the prospect's needs and ultimately close the sale.

Responsibilities:

The Solution Consultant will:
* Support the Specialty Software Sales Representative in creating and validating a Value Hypothesis for a prospect.
* Support the Specialty Software Sales Representative to Diagnose prospects' critical business issues and understand their processes.
* Design a solution to the prospects' needs and requirements using the right mix of Software, Analytical and Professional services, leveraging experts from Professional Services, Science, Product Management, etc.
* Advise prospects and customers on consumer analytics industry best practice.
* Describe how the solution works (science, technology / architecture, features and functions) to the prospect in a comprehensive but easy to understand manner
* Manage and deliver all Live Demonstrations, Conference Room Pilots, etc.
* Manage the coordination and preparation of all RFI and RFP submissions.
* Understand the prospect's objections and develop and present solutions to those objections
* Explain the product development roadmap
* Communicate product requirements to Product Management organization
* Describe the implementation process, collect all relevant data to support the Professional Services Organization in developing an estimate for resource requirements
* Assist in the implementation process as necessary and appropriate
