In January 2012, Chartis and SunAmerica Financial Group formed a significant new player in the benefits market by combining American General Life Companies' Benefit Solutions division with the Medical Excess and @Work groups from Chartis Corporate Benefits division. The combined entity targets the employee and affinity group markets, and will serve as a one-stop solution for today's changing benefits marketplace for groups of all sizes. The product suite includes life/ADD, BTA/accident, universal and term life, dental, vision, limited healthcare, medical reimbursement, stop-loss, organ transplant, group hospital, group and personal disability, critical illness, accident and cancer insurance. This broad and diverse portfolio provides limitless opportunities to create flexible benefit offerings suitable for all sizes and budgets, and the combined underwriting, distribution and sales strengths of American General and Chartis will provide further strength and differentiation in the marketplace.

In this role reporting to the Chief Pricing Actuary, the Dental/Vision/Limited Health Care Pricing Actuary will be focused on providing solutions and products to employers, employees and affinity groups. This position has responsibility for determining the appropriate strategic competitive pricing for all Dental and Vision products within the organization. The position will also oversee and direct all pricing reviews for the products, determining the appropriate pricing based on relevant factors (e.g., region, occupation, age, etc.).

Immediate Performance Objectives:
* Pricing for the Product
­ Quarterly access gaps in pricing for these products, performs pricing reviews with relevant market data at least annually
­ Works with financial analysis and product management in the review of the product profitability, and helps determine the strategic direction for the product
­ Ensures that the work done helps competitively and profitably place our products
­ Provides direction for sales, claims and underwriting teams relating to the product and assists in decisions on case design and specific case pricing.

* Develops Pricing and Analysis for new product development
­ Provides Pricing Research on potential designs
­ Assists with product filings
­ Provides analysis on new products, such as IRRs, VNBs, and Lifetime ROEs for the products
­ Implementation, performance feedback and ongoing enhancements

* Provides analysis on the products as needed
­ Works with finance, product managers and executive management to provide actuarial expertise as needed.
­ Develops analysis for the product managers as needed on new initiatives.
­ May work as a project manager as needed for special projects.

Supporting Performance Objectives:
* Develop and deliver monthly reports demonstrating effectiveness and profitability of the product lines.
* Develop strong relationships with the marketing, sales, underwriting and operations areas.
* Understand the interdependencies of the corporate functions and business units.
* Achieve in-depth knowledge of AIG (particularly AG and Chartis AH) products and processes.
* Keep up-to-date with financial services/insurance industry trends to ensure forecasting analysis is credible.

* FSA preferred, ASA required, 10+ years of experience in actuarial. Strong pricing experience in this market.
* 5+ years of employee benefits/affinity benefits industry experience.
* Bachelor's degree.
