Deputy Head of Compliance– Executive Director recruitment

The city based London office has circa 350 staff and there are 1500 employees worldwide. An exciting opportunity has just arisen within their London compliance team and they are recruiting at senior level for a Deputy Head of Compliance - Executive Director to manage the London based compliance team and deputise for the Global Head of Compliance in their absence. The job holder will have circa 10 direct reports and will ultimately be responsible for key areas of compliance such as providing regulatory advice and guidance to the business, developing and delivering regulatory training, new product approval, running of the Global Control Room, employee related activities (PA Dealing, Registrations, etc.), Compliance Risk Assessments, assisting with the prevention of financial crime, regulatory policy development and managing the monitoring and surveillance programme.
This is a business critical role and the job holder can expect to become immediately visible and contribute to building the infrastructure of a developing investment bank. In addition, there will be broad exposure to a number of products and asset classes and the opportunity to work as part of project management teams to help implement new products and systems.
Relevant industry experience is essential and the role requires an experienced compliance professional with a strong track record of success who is used to operating at senior level and managing others. You will have excellent senior stakeholder engagement skills and will be able to influence at senior level. The ideal candidates will be “hands on” in conducting compliance duties and also able to operate at the strategic level. You will demonstrate excellent leadership skills and must be an ambitious and bright individual who enjoys working in a challenging and dynamic environment.
