Deputy MLRO - EMEA Financial Crime Team, International Compliance (Job Number: 1311588)

Description

To assist the EMEA Group MLRO to fulfil all statutory obligations as required under UK and US legislation and regulations and otherwise exercise AML oversight in BNY Mellon EMEA and other offices as appropriate.

Responsible for review of UK and EU financial crime related consultation papers and draft legislation / regulations / rules / guidance and co-ordinate a response, gap analysis and implementation where appropriate across business lines and legal entities

Deputise for MLRO as required, including committee and project work

Act as Deputy Chair at the monthly EMEA Anti-Money Laundering Oversight Committee (EAMLOC)

Prepare and review regular monthly submissions for EAMLOC

Attend monthly business AML forum meetings as delegated by the MLRO

Participate in regular US policy and KYC system development committees and meetings

Work with the US corporate AML team where required on corporate policies and procedures and issues of common concern

Provide support and assistance to the MLRO in production of MLRO reports

Assist businesses in ensuring that AML issues are addressed in the event of changes to systems, client take-ons, acquisitions and any other relevant projects

Advise on and review business AML Risk Assessments

Work with US Compliance on the development of the risk assessment process

Review and approve business AML verification and associated procedures / manuals

Review new / updates to relevant corporate AML policies and regulation and develop / update EMEA policies accordingly

Provide support and advice to businesses on procedural implications and implementation As required, oversee coordination of Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) sanctions compliance including screening for Sanctions, PEPs and adverse media, communication of relevant updates, providing advice and guidance on sanction issues;

As required, interact with lines of business on sanction, SRVII and PEP related issues, including policy/procedural queries, issues with clearance of alerts and completion of sanction screening surveys.

Assist with develop of relevant training programmes

Provide support, assistance and input on ad hoc issues to other team members as required

Academic/Professional Qualifications (or equivalent qualifiers)

10 years Financial Crime related experience

Basic education to A level/Scottish Highers

Diploma in AML or other Financial Crime Prevention

Qualifications

Basic education to A level/Scottish Highers

Diploma in AML or other Financial Crime Prevention
