Description

The incumbent is responsible for assisting the resolution of valuation discrepancies raised by the Collateral Management team or the Portfolio Reconciliation team (value/position of OTC Derivatives). This involves engaging the Counterparty to investigate and help resolve the query, reporting progress back to the relevant team. Where required this may involve instigation of conference calls between internal and external teams/counterparties. Additionally, the incumbent is expected to maintain a database of queries, tracking action taken and ensuring follow ups are undertaken. The role also requires monitoring of collateral delivered out for income payments and assisting the substitution process for collateral.

The incumbent is expected to investigate to resolution breaks raised by Collateral Management or Portfolio Reconciliation teams. Incumbent must take pro-active approach to request, and chair conference calls with appropriate parties to resolve queries where needed. As the incumbent is expected to respond to queries from the client, there is a direct impact on the client relationship as well as the relationship of the Derivatives Services Group with other internal departments, in addition to market counterparties. Broad knowledge of Collateral Management process, as well as an understanding of income on equities.

Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting or equivalent work experience in investments or banking is required. A Derivatives background is preferred. Minimum of 2 to 3 years combined experience as a Derivative Operations Specialist l and / or Specialist II, or similar related work experience required, 4 to 5 years preferred. Strong customer service and communication skills are required. Knowledge and understanding of the derivatives industry, the players, foreign exchange markets, and settlement practices in domestic and foreign markets is required. Ability to work in a team environment, or individually, and deal effectively with all levels of staff is essential.
