Derivatives, Senior Business Analyst, Change Consultant recruitment

Northern Trust’s operational mission is to continue to build on its successes in Derivative processing for its growing hedge fund and outsourcing business while improving efficiency in supporting existing custody business.

Responsibilities

• Work with the global operational teams to develop business cases for capital funding requests for driven by Regulatory, Ops Cost and Ops Risk reductions.

• Field new and existing client service requests and perform scoping/prioritising before handing over to the Change Execution team for project execution.

• Work to aggressive timelines in a very dynamic change environment.

• Proactively manage Change Sponsors and Stakeholders in constantly changing prioritisation environment and ability to present project trade-off decisions.

• Own the change scope but needs strong leadership skills to seamlessly hand over the execution of the project to the change execution team.

• Work with senior management as a Derivative subject matter expert in the continually changing Derivative landscape pro-actively keeping appraised of industry initiatives.

• Work with Chicago/Bangalore based IT teams and external software vendors to plan the delivery roadmap including Misys, Lombard risk, MarkitSERV, Markit partners and Super Derivatives.

• Support the Senior Project Managers in Issues and Risk Management.

Knowledge/Skills

Essential skills required

• Significant OTC Derivative experience (preferably multi-asset class).

• Significant Derivatives Business analytical experience.

• Strong change consultancy skills

• Strong presentation skills

• Ability to work under time and client pressure.

• Adaptable to regular change

• Confidence to challenge Senior Mgmt, Operations and IT where necessary.

• Excellent Attention to detail.

• Willingness to take on difficult tasks to closure.

• Ability to present to Internal and External Stakeholders and capture feedback in a structured manner.

• Excellent communication skills both written verbal.

Preferred (but not essential) skills required

• Middle/Back Office Operational experience in Derivatives

• Knowledge of the MTM / DTCC / Markitwire / Misys CMS market utilities

• Experience of both the Sell-side and Buy-side communities
